Retiro Gardens in Autumn

J. L. Gamallo. The Retiro gardens are one of the best places to enjoy and walk in the countryside in the heart of Madrid. Autumn offers its most beautiful colors of the trees that populate the Retreat : sycamores , oaks, elms , acacias , etc.

For me , fall is the season of the year in which the withdrawal reaches its greatest splendor and magnificence. But without doubt , the place is the Crystal Palace , where the cedars of marshes whose leaves , intense red tone , are of incredible beauty . It slowly and deliberately skirting the Lake Palace to savor these wonderous trees from different angles and perspectives, as they glide including swans and ducks, and middle arises to the heavens , a stylish water dispenser . And then the Crystal Palace , where the cedars also have a superb view . Apart from the large pond , with the grandiose monument to King Alfonso XII , a less known are called Cecilio Rodriguez Gardens , designed by the famous gardener, inspired by Pompeian gardens , stroll through the arbors , small ponds and peacocks us back to the famous town of Campania. Another site of great beauty is the Japanese garden , with its island and its charming bridges.Finally, to conclude the visit, is precido admire the famous and magnificent Fountain of the Fallen Angel (1885), one of the few monuments erected to the devil, statue sculptor Ricardo Bellver.
