J. L. Gamallo. The Revolution of 1917 was a brutal and radical transformation of the Russian Empire,that of Tsar from authoritarianism  of Tsar  ran to a relentless and bloody dictatorship, as has been known virtually no other in history. The arts and culture shining moment, linked in with the Russian tradition, who had lived Russia in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with exquisite and cultured elites, completely westernized, with St. Petersburg as splendid setting disappeared.

La Revolución de 1917 supuso una transformación brutal y radical del Imperio Ruso, que del autoritarismo del zar se pasó a una implacable y sanguinaria dictadura, como prácticamente no se ha conocido otra en la historia. El brillante momento artístico y cultura, entroncado con la tradición rusa, que había vivido Rusia en los finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del XX, con unas élites exquisitas y cultivadas, completamente occidentalizadas, con San Petersburgo como espléndido marco despareció.

At the time the mayor Tierno Galván were created Los veranos de la villa (Summers of the town), kind of a big summer festival for entertaining during the summer nights that had to stay in Madrid or coming holiday. Logically over time have been varied characteristics, adapting to the tastes, more or less, of the moment. The scenarios, which were often outdoors and in some square in Madrid, have been concentrated in very specific, predominantly indoor places. If before the theater was one of the highlights, their presence is almost symbolic.

Since it became operational in 1992, the TGV, popularly known by the acrostic of AVE, progressively whole network of these super fast trains have been getting in touch to Madrid with a number of other Spanish cities such as Valencia, Zaragoza, Barcelona, etc.. One of these routes, especially interesting for tourists who come to Madrid, opened in 2005: the line between Madrid and Toledo, and allows you to reach this city so important in the history of Spain in just under half an hour from Atocha station, 10 minutes walk from the hostel.

Aunque aún no resulte muy conocido, desde hace un par de años en que se inagurara por SS.MM. los Reyes de España y el presidente Putin, viene funcionando el Centro Ruso de Ciencia y Cultura, ubicado en la Calle Atocha 34. Sin lugar a dudas se ha convertido en el referente principal para dar a conocer la cultura rusa, su vigencia y actualidad, después del estancamiento y retroceso que supuso el período soviético.

Aún somos muchos los que recordamos cuando Madrid, la villa y corte cuando llegaban los duros y calurosos meses del verano madrileño se producía una huida casi general (de los que podían, claro) hacia destinos más agradables, ya fuera hacia la playa o hacia la sierra. Pero con el tiempo tanto las costumbres como las personas han ido cambiado, y Madrid ya no es el desierto veraniego. Muchísimas personas tienen los días de vacaciones sumamente tasados, y como mucho pueden aspirar a una semana a 10 días.

Doña Teresa Berganza, ya excelentísimal habérsele concedida la Gran Cruz de Alfonso X el Sabio, y nunca mejor concedida a esta sapientísima madrileña, castiza por los cuatro costados, cantante excepcinal y artiste incomensurable en todos los niveles y sentidos. Excelsa tanto en el lied, la zarzuela, la ópera, o el oratorio. Intérpreta maravillosa de Rossini y Mozart, caballos de batalla de su repertorio en los que fue indiscutible ganadora.
